HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed briefly in the industrial area of Kattedan in Mailardevpally on Sunday morning after a fire broke out at a plastic manufacturing unit in the Tatanagar area.
The blaze reportedly began in the plastic storage section of the factory. No casualties or injuries were reported as the unit was closed on Sunday and no workers were present at the time of the incident.
Fire tenders reached the spot at 10.15 am with four fire engines. Fire personnel worked for nearly two hours before bringing the blaze under control.
While the exact cause is yet to be ascertained, officials suspect a short circuit may have triggered the fire. The property loss is estimated to be under Rs 5 lakh. A case has been registered and a detailed probe is underway.
Fire breaks out at Somajiguda apartment
A major fire broke out at an apartment in Somajiguda on Sunday evening, triggering panic among residents. The incident occurred in a flat on the fifth floor of Alpine Heights, prompting residents to rush out of the building. No casualties were reported. Fire officials suspect a cylinder blast might have caused the mishap.
